Former NBA star Tracy McGrady is reported to be returning to the league and rumors say he is planning to join the Los Angeles Lakers.

Popularly known as T-Mac, McGrady is one of the best scorers in the NBA during his time alongside Kobe Bryant. Sports World News cited reports claiming that McGrady now wants to be on the same team as his former scoring rival. The Lakers are obviously still struggling with their performance this season.

"My body is still in shape. I can go. It's about opportunity, though. ... I want no limits on who I am and what I can do, not stand in the corner and shoot jump shots. I want to be involved, that's not saying10 to15 shots, I want to be involved. I don't want to stand in the corner and shoot threes. That's not me," McGrady was quoted by Sports World News as saying.

Reports noted that if McGrady decides to join the Lakers, the team could really use his leadership experience during his years in the NBA. Despite this obvious interest from the former NBA player, the Lakers has yet to express their plan to sign T-Mac on the team.

But before the team could even respond to these rumors, McGrady has already denied that he will be returning to the NBA, saying that he is already "past his playing days."

In a Facebook post, McGrady said he has no plans of doing a comeback. "I know you all may have read the Bleacher Report article but I have no plans on coming back to the NBA. I'm a happily retired man. Always appreciate the love you all give but my playing days are no more. Onto other ventures," his Facebook post read.

It could have been an exciting scene in the NBA, McGrady joining Bryant in the Lakers and the two making a new round of history again. Dime said that McGrady could still be a productive member of the Lakers despite the limitations of his age.

"He'd probably be the third best offensive player on the Lakers right now - it would be difficult for him to stay with any top-flight wings, and defense is where players really crumble when their playing days have wanned," Dime added in its report.

But it seems that T-Mac is really done with his basketball career with him being completely satisfied of how it ended. He is now happy with what he currently has and the injury-free and pain-free life he deserved to live after basketball.
