A minus two, plus two might be the next step for Real Madrid when the transfer window comes upon the football world this January, several reports say.
Madrid might sell Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema to English clubs to close a blockbuster deal, adding Sergio "Kun" Aguero and Marco Reus to their roster next season, reported Express.
"Carlo Ancelotti's European champions are on an incredible 18-game winning run, but the former Chelsea boss is not stopping planning for the future," said the Daily Star on the move.
According to the Express report, Bale, a former Tottenham star, might be headed for Manchester United or Chelsea while Benzema might go to Liverpool or Arsenal.
"Gareth Bale will not continue at Real Madrid and Benzema is also on thin ice... If they receive a big bid, they will not be hesitant," the report cited Spanish journalist Manuel Esteban as telling La Goleada. "The dream is to combine Kun Aguero, Marco Reus and Cristiano Ronaldo, who would become the best front line in the world of football."
The Latino Post reported recently that Reus, a Borussia Dortmund midfielder that appears to be in demand in the football universe, was being set up for a double deal, although with PSG striker Edinson Cavani. It added that the athlete had a £19.6-million buy-out clause in his current contract.
However, with the new double deal appearing to be all systems go, Reus is rumored to be learning Spanish, maybe gearing for the La Liga, while Aguero might be tempted by the prospects of a comeback after a stint with Atletico earlier in his career, said Express.
Football Gossip said Aguero, a 26-year-old Argentine, has been eyed by Real since he moved to Manchester City from Atletico Madrid in 2011, but he was not allowed to move. Now, he has a contract with Etihad that ends in 2019. Meanwhile, Bale, "hasn't lived up to his form during the second half of 2013-14. But Real demand as much as they can of their £80million investment with few clubs able to afford that kind of cash. Expect speculation linking him with one of the few that can, Manchester United," Football Gossip added.
Benzema had the same drop in performance since signing a deal during the summer, getting a score of 13 goals in 21 games so far compared with 24 in 52 games in 2013-14. However, said Football Gossip, the exit might not be happening in January, and might instead take place in the summer.
Real, Caught Off Side said, wants to cash-in £40 million by releasing Benzema "as the Spanish giants target a new wave of Galaticos."
