The Houston Rockets (7-4), looking for their first three-game winning streak this season, will host the Boston Celtics (4-7) on Tuesday at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
Coming off impressive wins against the New York Knicks and Denver Nuggets, the Rockets will attempt to sustain their winning ways as they take on the skidding Celtics on their home floor.
Celtics Struggle
After racking up four straight victories, the Celtics have dropped their last three games with the last two losses coming in double-digit margins. Nevertheless, the rebuilding Celtics are taking things one game at a time under the tutelage of first-year head coach Brad Stevens.
Jeff Green, who assumed the role as the Celtics' top gunner following the departure of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry to Brooklyn, is coming off his worst scoring outing this season as he finished with two points on 0-for-6 shooting in a 106-88 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.
"I just didn't perform the way I wanted to, and you know it's on me," Green said via ESPN. "I've got to figure out a way to play through me missing shots and not getting calls."
During their four-game winning streak, the Celtics were distributing the ball effectively at 23.3 assists per game. However, those stats plunged during the three-game losing skid to 15.3 assists per game.
"I think we just have to find our comfort zone again," forward Jared Sullinger told ESPN. "That four-game winning streak, we found a comfort zone and we were sharing the ball. We were moving the ball things and things were hopping on the floor and didn't stay on one side. We are just over thinking and still trying to find that comfort zone."
Red Hot Rockets
On the contrary, the Rockets have been red-hot offensively these past couple of games. After dropping 109 points against the Knicks last week, Houston broke the 120-point barrier for the first time this season in a 122-111 win against the Nuggets Saturday.
Howard, who has been playing solidly on both ends, knocked down 17 free throws out of 24 attempts to finish with 25 points against Denver.
"There's nothing I can do but try to make the free throws," Howard told the team's official website. "Just focus and make them pay at the line. There's nothing I can do about it besides make them. The more free throws I make, the less teams will do the Hack-A-Howard. So, I'm just going to continue to practice and they will start falling."
Jeremy Lin has also caught fire as of late while James Harden appears to have recovered from a foot injury.
