Will "Bad Dreams" literally be a nightmare for adidas in the marketing department? We will know on Dec. 12, as they become available online and on display at some Foot Locker stores, said Nice Kicks.

The collection is a follow-up to "Nightmare" of the past two years, continuing the cold pillow colorway, said Nice Kicks.

"Designed to be worn on court for this year's Christmas Day NBA action, the adidas D Rose 5, adidas Crazylight Boost, adidas J Wall 1 and adidas Crazy 8 II all take to scary styling," the report said. They get glow in the dark features on different parts, among them the brand logos and the sole.

According to Weartesters, they will be priced at $140 for the first two models, $115 and $125, respectively.

"Bad dreams never felt so good," said Sporting News. "These are the only 'Bad Dreams' that people actually may want to have."

"The shoes will be worn during the 2014 Christmas Day NBA games by Adidas-sponsored players like John Wall, Damian Lillard and Derrick Rose," it explained.

According to the report, the shoes are in colorways inspired by the tinges of the Yuletide Holidays, and all sport graphics with "a Roman numeral call out for December 24, 2014." While other releases from other brands have a light and happy feel to them, the adidas line sets itself apart by infusing a little horror into the picture.

Sneaker News said adidas is the first brand to release their official product line for Christmas 2014, juxtaposing "holiday tones and some macabre details that signify the 'bad dreams.'"

Overall, it noted, the shoes may come off a little weird for some, but the models all look good both in the light of day and in the darkness of the night.

The Crazy colorway is true to its name, with a very convoluted outerskin, as though sending really sending the message that Christmas colors just merged with a haunted scarecrow. J Wall 1 reminds us of the colors of Frankenstein, and the stiches in the detail only reinfoce that feel.

Crazylight Boost is very futuristic, especially with the red reflectors on its sides, but it does look menacing. The model with the safest appearance would be D Rose 5, which would only reveal its outlandish nature when the lights turn off.

Matt said on the comments section of Weartesters that the collection just does not work for the season, explaining: "...[T]his should have been a Halloween pack. I would cop if they release a purple nightmare before christmas pack." Jay is not sold on the glow in the dark add on: "Pretty nice, but glow in the dark on b ball shoes is the most pointless thing ever done."

However, with five votes, Sneaker News gives the collection an average score of 9.8 of a possible 10, which is extremely positive.
