The coming year could be Apple's biggest one yet -- if reports surrounding the Cupertino giant's line of upcoming releases are to be believed. International Business Times reported that 2015 might see new MacBook Airs, and as we have previously noted, the 12-inch Retina MacBook Air is a whispered candidate.

Here are are some reasons why the Retina MacBook Air could be the world's best laptop yet to come.

New Trackpad Design

MacRumors cited this new technology in the form of a patent back in January. According to the Mac Rumors report, Apple was awarded the U.S. Patent No. 8,633,916 -- this button-less product apparently utilized an array of force sensor and an acuator feedback. The later was said to copy the similar function of the company's current lineup of devices.

So what's very surprising about this feature? Well, it tracks the user's fingers, and the acuator consequently provides tactile feedback.

Fanless Architecture

Yup, you heard it right. The Retina MacBook Air might just ditch the fans, as reported by BGR. This premise rose from the speculation that the laptop would feature Intel's Broadwell Core M Chips. We have earlier covered that the processors, allegedly, have already been delivered to Apple -- making a Christmas 2014 release possible. But perhaps we could already drop the notion.

It's Just that Thin

Perhaps you've heard it over and over again, but Retina Air is expected to be thinner than current models. But there's more.

Citing its alleged slimness, Digital Trends reported that it would pack the likewise-thinner USB Type C connectors. If you haven't seen one, head over here (via Ars Technica).

The above features are in line with what we have earlier mentioned. Reportedly, the device could sport the Touch ID fingerprint security system -- something that's truly exciting for a laptop. In addition, it's also said to feature Intel's Core i5 and Core i7 chips, should Core M chips not apply. And yes, the "new trackpad design," its fan-less architecture, 2732 x 1536 pixel resolution, 264 ppi and three color options gold, silver and space gray were all allegedly packing.

The MacBook Air appears to be naturally behind among Apple's products, which already sported the stunning Retina display. Air Herald wrote that the following devices possess the company's newest visual technology: iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPod touch 4G, iPod touch 5G, iPad, iPad Mini, iPad Air, MacBook Pro and iMac.
