For the 12 Days of Christmas, British author JK Rowling is delivering treats to her millions of fans: with 12 Harry Potter stories to be published on Pottermore, of course.

The New York Daily noted that Rowling's Christmas-themed gift to her fans came only two months after her Halloween story detailing the character of the dislikeable Dolores Umbridge. This time, she will still be dealing with a few villains, one of which is noted to be Harry's long-time school enemy, Draco Malfoy.

Similar to her Halloween collection though, Rowling is making it more fun for fans to read the Christmas surprises, with Facebook Events noting that in order to access the surprises, fans will be asked to "answer our rhyming riddles to unwrap a #PottermoreChristmas surprise every day."

The complete event recap said, "Christmas is coming early to Pottermore. Starting Friday, December 12, we'll be releasing a surprise for you every day on pottermore.com at 1pm GMT (8am EST).

"With wonderful new writing by J.K. Rowling in Moments from 'Half-Blood Prince', shiny gold Galleons and even a new potion or two, make sure you don't miss out - just visit pottermore.com and answer our rhyming riddles to unwrap a #PottermoreChristmas surprise every day."

Of course, the surprise for her fans is not the only thing that "Potterheads" are looking forward to. According to The Independent UK, an adaptation of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" will be developed as a trilogy with Rowling debuting as a screenwriter.

The events of "Fantastic Beasts" will focus on the adventures of Newt Scamander in New York in the 1920s, way before The Boy Who Lived was born.

According to the Harry Potter wikia, Newt Scamander has been awarded an Order of Merlin, Second Class, and was a famed Magizoologist. He put his knowledge about magical creatures by writing the textbook that Hogwarts has been known to use. At the time that events in Harry Potter took place, Scamander was already retired and said to be living in Dorset.

He is also the fictional character who wrote the books that Harry Potter and his friends have used often during their time at Hogwarts. There have been no cast news yet about the films, however, it has been noted by the Daily Star UK that the first part of Scamander's trilogy will hit the theaters in 2016.

Are you excited for Rowling's Christmas surprise for her fans, or has the Harry Potter hype been exaggerated at this point?
