Nicki Minaj had a very tough time growing up, and her new song revealed that and more.
The 31-year-old rapper poured out her emotions in her new track "All Things Go" from her upcoming album, "The Pinkprint." In the song, Minaj raps about an alleged pregnancy and losing a child at the age of 15 with a guy named Aaron, Daily Mail reports.
In one verse of the track, the artist says that her child could have grown up with her younger brother Micaiah, nicknamed Caiah. The child and Minaj's brother would have been the same age now, the news outlet notes.
"I want Caiah to go to college just to say we did it/ My child with Aaron, would've have been 16 any minute/ So in some ways I feel like Caiah is the both of them/ It's like he's Cai's little angel looking over him," Minaj sings.
It seems the "Anaconda" hitmaker was once engaged when she was younger. She reveals in the song, "Ten years ago, that's when you proposed/I look down, yes I suppose."
"All Things Go" also details Minaj's struggles with juggling her career and family duties. Daily Mail reports that the singer, who was born in Trinidad and Tobago, had a difficult relationship with her mother Carol.
"I love my mother more than life itself and that's a fact.. I'd give it all if I could somehow just rekindle that/ She never understands why I'm so over-protective/ The more I work the more I feel like their neglected."
Minaj also shares her thoughts on her cousin Nicholas Telemaque's death. He was reportedly shot in Brooklyn in July 2011.
"I lost my little cousin to a senseless act of violence/ His sister said he wanted to stay with me but I didn't invite him/ Why didn't he ask? Or am I just buggin'?/ 'Cause since I got fame, they don't act the same even though that they know that I love them," Minaj reveals in the song.
The artist revealed to Complex that "The Pinkprint" is her most personal album yet, where she addressed her family, loss, death, and guilt.
"When you're working and you're busy and you're successful, no matter what, something suffers, whether it's your relationship with your mother, your relationship with your whole family, not being able to go to your brother's graduation. Certain things suffer and take the back burner," Minaj told Complex.
"The Pinkprint," her third studio album, is scheduled for release on December 15, 2014, MTV reports. Listen to "All Things Go" below.
