Good news for "House of Cards" fans: according to Fox 411, the political drama will return on Netflix for its third season on February 27, 2015. The online media streaming service has released a teaser on Facebook and Twitter, with Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright seem on what is possibly Air Force One, with a message from the White House included in the 12-second trailer.
The flagship drama from Netflix has won actor Kevin Spacey awards for his role as the ambitious politician Frank Underwood, which also helped Netflix bag the award for an original drama. The Guardian also reported that Kevin Spacey and his co-star were even known for her role as somewhat similar to Lady Macbeth from Shakespeare's drama, with lines equally chilling, like, "Cut out his heart and put it in his hands."
BGR.com noted that ever since Netflix aired "House of Cards" the streaming service has been on a roll, also winning awards for its other series "Orange is the New Black" which is a prison drama-comedy.
The website also noted that another big-budget series will be released later in the month, called "Marco Polo." Also, in early 2015, it will be releasing an adaptation of Lemony Snicket's goth drama, "A Series of Unfortunate Events."
Despite all this excitement for the political drama. The Daily Mail noted that the show has already been renewed for its third season in 2014, even before the second season has premiered, but when it comes to hits and critically-acclaimed shows, the specific date matters.
Developed by Beau Willimon and based on a hit British miniseries of the same name, "House of Cards" started almost immediately as a hit when it aired in 2013, receiving a total of nine Emmy nominations for season one, including awards for directing, casting, and cinematography. It became an even bigger in its second season. Receiving a total of thirteen Emmy Nominations.
It didn't stop there. Robin Wright also won Best Actress at the Golden Globes, making her the first person to win an award for an internet-streaming series.
Finally, it also rounded up its latest nomination on Monday, from the Producer's Guild, which put "House of Cards" side by side with phenomenal hits that included "Breaking Bad," "Downton Abbey," "Game of Thrones," and "True Detective."
