Microsoft has finally revealed December's free titles for Xbox Live Gold members. According to Major Nelson, three free games are gracing the company's gaming consoles for the holidays: one for the Xbox One and two for the Xbox 360!

For the Xbox One, Live Gold members are bound to get "Worms Battlegrounds," a strategy and simulation game published by Team17 Digital Ltd. The franchise chronicles the adventures of worms as its main characters, featuring a stunning HD 3D visual effect. The game retains its classic 2D gameplay, describes the Xbox Store.

According to the Xbox Store, "Worms Battlegrounds" provides more worms, bigger landscapes and further customization opportunities. In addition, social gaming options had been revamped -- users are able to get more of a single-playing experience by creating teams they can name, design emblem for and select players worthy to lead.

Meanwhile, Microsoft lays out a dual release for the Xbox 360. The first half of December (Dec. 1 - Dec. 15) will see the free arrival of "The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief," while the second half (Dec. 16 - 31) gets "SSX."

"The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief" is a crime adventure game that draws inspiration from the 1960s, wrote Cinema Blend. Curated from the creators of "The Book of Unwritten Tales," the game presents a thrilling storyline that's well-equipped with flavorful twists and turns, reads its description on the Xbox website.

Set in Europe, the story centers on the three-episode adventure of gentleman master thief The Raven. According to the game's description, it is also offered in full HD 3D, providing cinematic presentation through multiple camera angles and cut scenes -- much like a theatrical gameplay.

Newcomers are guided by a help function, while experienced players can enjoy optional puzzles and scoring systems. The game was developed by King Art Games and published by Nordic Games GmbH, as told by Xbox. The game normally retails for $9.99.

The Xbox 360 will also get "SSX" for free. The game is described as a "modern day reinvention" of the classic arcade franchise that offers the same (or even more) action on top of mountain escapades and reality-defying stunts.

Major Nelson noted that the games are available as free downloads to qualified Xbox Live Gold members. Depending on availability, some regions may offer alternative titles.
