The next device in Microsoft's Surface Pro lineup has got people talking at present. According to Master Herald, recent speculations claimed that the device is adopting a new hybrid classification called "laplet." As you may have guessed it, Surface Pro 4 appears to form a crossover of laptop and tablet designs.

Microsoft keeps the docking station accessory found in Surface Pro 3 for the device's later versions, wrote the outlet. Type covers and power cables are also said to be retained.

In October, BREATHEcast reported claims disproving that no other product follows Surface Pro 3. Surface line-up general manager Brian Hall confirmed, "We are pleased to share that the following Surface Pro 3 accessories are designed with our product roadmap in mind and will be compatible with the next generation of the 'Pro' line Surface."

Hall's statement granted followers an assurance that another Pro device (or more) would be coming in the future.

Talking about compatibility, the device was also reported by the outlet to feature things already existent in the Surface Pro 3. These include a 12-inch screen and Ethernet adapters. Accordingly, the Surface Pro 4 might come with a larger RAM and faster processor.

Christian Today noted earlier in November that Microsoft has been working, reportedly, at Surface Pro 4. This speculation came shortly after predecessor Surface Pro 3 took over the tablet spotlight in the business arena. The source listed several prominent sectors making use of Surface Pro 3 such as BMW, Coca-Cola, Louis Vuitton, the Cincinnati Country Day School and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

"In a blog post, Nadella said, 'Microsoft is putting its full and sustained support behind the ongoing Surface program as one of a number of great hardware choices for businesses large and small' Its notable Nadella mentioned the Surface as one option among many 'great' choices -- language that not only reflects the Surface line's 'supporting role' within the company, but also suggests Microsoft wants to avoid the impression that it's competing with its own hardware partners, such as Dell and Lenovo," Information week, wrote.

Meanwhile, industry speculations predicted that the Surface Pro 4 comes out next year, said The Gospel Herald. The source assumed that Microsoft could either announce or ultimately launch the device in 2015. Another prediction claims it could appear after Windows 10 -- or even better, simultaneously. If this holds true, Surface Pro 4 becomes the first-ever device to sport the new Windows 10.

In another report, Master Herald cited rumors telling that Microsoft centers its attention to Surface Pro 4's multimedia capabilities. Price has also been an alleged concern, with whispers claiming that the company is haggling the device's cost down to usual starting price. BREATHEcast said the device may retail with a $1000 - $2000 price tag, citing speculators' opinion via The Telegraph.
