Egypt and Ghana will face off in the second leg of the World Cup playoffs Tuesday.
A great deal of uncertainty has surrounded the second leg of this tournament, but none of it relates the actually match results. Ghana's soccer federation has continually asked for the match to be moved to a neutral venue out of Cairo, but FIFA has continually shot down the proposition and called for the game to remain in the same venue where it was originally scheduled.
Regarding the actual result, this was one of the most hotly anticipated matches of the tournament, but it will likely be the least watched of the remaining playoffs. Ghana jumped out to a 6-1 win over Egypt in the opening leg and has essentially secured a berth.
"We're desperate to get back to the World Cup, but we have to make sure we do things in the right way in the second leg," said Ghana Asamoah Gyan, according to FIFA. "It's football, so anything can happen."
"We deserved it," added Gyan about winning the first leg. "The players fought their hearts out - everyone was fighting so hard. And the crowd were simply amazing."
Egypt would need to win by five or more goals in this match without conceding. A 5-0 win would put Egypt through while a 6-1 result and would force extra time. A 7-2 win would put Ghana through as well.
Prediction: Ghana is in the driver's seat and can simply play defense all night. Look for them to do just that but also look for Egypt to play with desperation and score a few goals. Egypt makes it respectable and wins 4-1.
Start Time: Kickoff begins at 11 a.m. EST
