Apple has confirmed today that it will be launching a (RED) Special Shopping Day Promo during its annual Black Friday sale on November 28, as part of a campaign to support the upcoming World Aids Day, Network World reported.

According to Apple's official press release on its website, it will be offering 25 apps with new content in Apps for (RED), a special section of the Apple App store, and all the sales of the (RED) apps for the next two weeks will be added to the global fund against HIV/AIDS.

In addition, Apple also announced that part of the sales earned by Apple's online and physical stores on Black Friday (November 28) and on World AIDS Day on December 1, will be donated to the fund as well.

"On Friday, November 28, Apple customers in the US will receive a special edition (RED) iTunes® gift card with the purchase of select Apple products. For each gift card distributed, Apple will also donate a percentage to the Global Fund," Apple said in the press release.

According to Apple CEO Tim Cook, the company supports (RED) because they believe "the gift of life is the most important gift anyone can give," according to Mac Stories.

As part of the campaign and the promotion, customers will be given an iTunes gift card if they make a qualified purchase. And unlike last year, Apple is including iPhones in its Black Friday promotion this year.

A US$50 gift card will not only be given to those who will buy an iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2 and iPad mini, but also for buyers of iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, and iPhone 5c, except for those made with no money down through the online store.

On the other hand, those who will purchase an iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Retina iMac and Retina MacBook Pro will get a US$100 gift card.

And lastly US$25 gift cards will be given to those who will purchase an Apple TV, iPod touch, iPod nano and Dr. Dre headphones and speakers.

Meanwhile, Mac Stories said that other third-party apps and games are also taking part of the (RED) campaign, including Angry Birds, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, Clash of Clans, Bubble Witch 2 Saga and Despicable Me: Minion Rush, among others.

"The purchases you make during our holiday shopping events and through Apps for (RED) can create a lasting impact on the future of millions," Apple said.
