Thanks to a number of technical issues, flagship Samsung devices look like they won't be getting their promised Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates on time. The news applies to the Galaxy Note 2, but impatient Galaxy Note 2 owners will be happy to know a new Android 4.3 test firmware has leaked onto the Internet.

The leaked build comes to us via SamMobile, which has a reliable track record when it comes to Samsung firmwares and insider information. SamMobile states they received firmware N7100XXUEMK4 from one of their insiders. The firmware is not a finalized build and only applies to model GT-N7100 of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

As with all unofficial firmwares, the standard warning labels apply. Flashing should only be attempted by those with previous experience, as missteps could result in a completely voided and bricked device.

SamMobile states that it has been testing the firmware for some days, and that it reports the build as being stable enough to use.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update brings new TouchWiz interface features from the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3. System performance is also boosted, and the upgrade allows the Galaxy Note 2 to fully interact with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch thanks to Bluetooth 4.0 LE support. Samsung has also included its KNOX security software suite and Samsung Wallet in the firmware.

Let us know if you download the leaked Android 4.3 Jelly Bean build for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and what you think of it in the comments section below.
