Retired professional wrestler "Stone Cold" Steve Austin could be seen as the new "authority figure" on WWE television if Team Authority loses this coming Sunday at the Survivor Series set to happen in St. Louis Missouri.
An Inquisitr report said that Triple H has announced that if Team Cena loses against Team Authority, every member of the former would be fired.
The team reportedly has two members, Erick Rowan and Dolph Ziggler, who could not participate in Sunday's match due to the condition set by Triple H, making the team outnumbered for the bout. But Inquisitr said that it still expects Team Cena to win and "force Authority out of power."
With this situation happening, Austin would surely take over as WWE's new general manager and the announcement is expected to happen on Raw a day after the fight.
A similar scenario almost happened last year, Inquisitr added, when Triple H beat Daniel Bryan in a WWE championship match that gave way to expectations that McMahon could return to WrestleMania 30 "to force Triple H and Stephanie Mcmahon out of power." This would have led to the matchup of Austin and Triple H, where the victor would take full control of the WWE.
At WrestleMania 31, Inquisitr said that Triple H will likely and eventually challenge Austin to a match with similar conditions as last year.
This potential matchup is said to have raised the brows of the many fans who want to see Austin fight other wrestlers.
"But Austin's main concern about returning for one more match is making sure he can have a great match, and he feels like he could have a five-star caliber match with Triple H," Inquisitr explained.
In an earlier article by Bleacher Report, Austin said that his return to the ring is not yet possible despite many of his fans hoping that it would happen soon.
"I'd consider anything if the perfect situation or opportunity arose and it would be more than a million-dollar question. I don't want to sit here and promote a match, sell a match or talk about making a comeback. The dirt sheets, or whatever you call them, and I talk to Dave Meltzerand and Wade Keller all the time and they're nice guys and I would consider them friends. I see Dave at almost every MMA fight, but I don't want to stir any pots or hint or tease anything," he was quoted by Bleacher Report as saying.
Aside from Austin, Inquisitr said that Jerry "The King" Lawler is also seen to be a possible WWE general manager because of his leadership skills.
All eyes of the public would be centered on the results of Sunday's match as it would determine the next steps that the WWE leadership would take.
