Following the debut of "Grand Theft Auto V" on PS4 and Xbox One on Tuesday comes the expected production of hearsays surrounding its sequel. That's right -- it's "Grand Theft Auto VI" we're talking about now.

International Business Times reported that "GTA V" has achieved tremendous success, earning $1 billion in a matter of three days. On that note, the franchise appears to be one of the most successful video games of all time. Can Rockstar Games keep the hype up?

The first rumor we covered tells about the possible setting for "GTA VI." Cinema Blend cited DJ Whoo Kid's interview with BallerStatus where he said, "I'm 'bout to be in the new 'Grand Theft Auto' that takes place in New York again."

"New York again" just rings a bell - first, players would remember that Liberty City is the franchise's equivalent of the place, taking center-stage on the earlier GTAs III and IV. Yet Whoo Kid's statement appears to be vague; Cinema Blend said he could be pointing at a "GTA V" expansion instead. Either way, it seems Rockstar is up for something in New York!

On the other hand, IBT predicted that Vice City may very well be the "next logical step." In essence, this speculation seems more favorable as the outlet remembered it to be the location left untouched during the PlayStation 2 / Xbox trilogy. For the uninitiated, it is the fictional equivalent of Miami.

KpopStarz cited other speculations claiming that the next setting could be somewhere in Paris, London, Brazil and Las Vegas. Reportedly, "GTA VI" will "most likely" arrive in 2017.

Yet gta6grandtheftauto.com disproved rumors slating the sequel's release as June or July 2017. The outlet predicted after its analysis that "GTA VI" may come around 2018 to 2020. A female protagonist is also expected.

Speculated features from gta6grandtheftauto.com include new places, new professions, character customization and house changes. More missions, vehicles and clothes are also ideal.

One thing we can confirm though, is that "GTA VI" has been in the minds of its developers since then. Rockstar North studio president Leslie Benzies revealed in last year's interview with Develop, "We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don't know what 'GTA VI' will be, but we've got some ideas. 'GTA Online' is the focus right now."

"There ain't no rest between finishing 'V' and then 'Online.' Plus we have some other things -- stuff, DLC, I don't know how to describe it exactly -- that we'd like to do, and we'll pick the right ones," he added.
