We know, we know. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and it may be grueling to think of the best food ideas aside from your resident turkey.

As usual, we consider everybody's taste buds here at Latino Post, and we're sure you can find something for you to chew on when the holiday hits the calendar. Read on.

Main Dish

'Citrus-Glazed Turkey with Chipotle Gravy' by Bon Appétit (via Epicurious; click to see)

If you'd like to try a flavorful mix of butter, honey, orange, cumin, chilies and fresh thyme, this turkey recipe might do the trick. A 22- to 24-pound turkey makes 16 servings, perfect for the family! However, note that this recipe might take some time cooking -- but hey, we can't just ditch the turkey!

A reviewer commented, "This is the best, juiciest and flavorful turkey ever."

'Russian Salmon Pie' by Ligaya Mishan (via The New York Times; click to see)

This fish-in-a-pie treat is done in 1 hour and 20 minutes, preferring Alaskan salmon fillet. But of course, you can try others too. Just imagine how brown rice, egg, flaked salmon, cheese and bread crumbs go together -- all in one convenient Thanksgiving pie!

Dessert

'Hazelnut-Caramel Bars' by Martha Stewart

Total time's an hour, but it makes 24 servings. This dessert needs flour and toasted hazelnuts as foundation, with optional, coarsely chopped semisweet chocolate. Sweeteners include light-brown sugar, light corn syrup and heavy cream.

Start by preheating oven to 375 degrees. Ready an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment. Make sure the hazelnuts' loose skins are rubbed off.

'Thanksgiving Turkeys' by Giada De Laurentiis (via Food Network; click to see)

Kids, we got something for you. This DIY recipe takes 35 minutes to do, and it's very easy to make. Semisweet chocolate chips, corn candies, sandwich cookies, peanut butter cups, malt balls and "Red Frosting" create cute little turkeys that's both fun to decorate and eat!

Side Dish

'Chef John's Perfect Mashed Potatoes' by Chef John (via Allrecipes; click to see)

This side dish isn't just for Thanksgiving -- we always love potatoes! It makes use of three large russet potatoes, whole milk, butter, salt and ground black pepper. Sounds simple, right? Yet a reviewer wrote, "Classic! This is THE method to use for really good mashed potatoes."

'Shaved Brussels Sprout-and-Chestnut Salad' by Marian Cooper Cairns and Mary Allen Perry (via Country Living; click to see)

This side dish is done in 30 minutes and you'll have to do a "Sherry Vinaigrette" -- a mixture of vinegar, honey, Dijon mustard and chopped shallot.
