Megan Fox is rumored to reprise her role in the "Transformers" movie franchise.

Air Herald reported that there's a possibility that Fox will return in the film, despite having been replaced by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," the third movie of the franchise. Fox reportedly "left" the franchise after comparing "Transformers" director Michael Bay to Adolf Hitler while talking to the press.

Back in August, Fox expressed interest in coming back to the popular sci-fi action movie, E! Online noted.

"If [Bay] ever wanted me to do a cameo like assembling an autobot motorcycle in a bike shop or something like that, I would totally do it," Fox told E! Online while she's promoting "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," the reboot movie also produced by Bay.

But, Bay may not be directing the fifth "Transformers" movie. When asked by USA Today about the matter, Bay revealed that he has other plans that don't involve "Transformers."

"There's kind of a new chapter, a new direction in movies I want to make. I have a lot of stories to tell. And it's about flexing new muscles," the director said, as quoted by USA Today.

Release Date, Cast, and Plot

The upcoming fifth movie will revolve around the Predicons, not the Autobots and Decepticons, Air Herald noted. But there are also rumors, as cited by Air Herald, that Optimus Prime will "be joined by Red Alert, Override, and Ultra Magnus. Also on the docket are the Decepticons, Scourge, Blitzwing, and Cyclonus." The outlet also added that Maximals and Dinobots may have an appearance in "Transformers 5."

Meanwhile, film distributor Paramount Pictures has yet to confirm reports. Aside from the rumors noted above, Mark Wahlberg's return to the franchise is still unknown. The actor starred in the fourth film titled "Transformers" Age of Extinction" as Cade Yeager.

Despite having no official word yet on the director and the casting, Paramount Pictures International SVP Edward Ryan confirmed that "Transformers 5" is slated to be released in theaters on June 24, 2016. Cinema Blend reported that Paramount Pictures hired Ehren Kruger to write the screenplay of the movie.

When asked by Collider about the fifth movie a few months ago, Kruger said that the creative process often changes the story pitches of the screenwriter. He added, "I have a Transformers 5 in my head.  Whether that will be what Transformers 5 is or I will work on it, who knows at this point?"
