The door is closed for Welsh footballer Gareth Bale. There's no getting out -- for he chose to stay.

The 25-year-old Real Madrid winger decided to stick with his team and reject offers to transfer by English football club Manchester United, the Daily Express reported.

Bale's agent, David Mannaseh, dispelled the rumors of his transfer in a decisive response.

"Rubbish, these rumours about a swap are absolute rubbish," said Mannaseh, per Daily Express.

A world-record fee -- this is how Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett described the offer made by Manchester United to the player last year, according to Manchester Evening News.

United was ready to offer a bigger wage than Real Madrid. The same article reported that United offered "more money" than Real but he decided to play with the Spanish football club. Bale signed for Real in an £85-million transfer from Tottenham on September last year.

Manchester Evening News added that United's pursuit of Bale started in August, as confirmed by former United manager David Moves. United, the same article noted, also expressed interest in Bale in 2007, but the footballer decided to join Tottenham instead.

"It's been well documented that we wanted (Cesc) Fabregas, Bale and (Cristiano) Ronaldo," Manchester Evening News quoted Barnett as saying.

For Bale's agent, it was one of the greatest, if not the the largestt, moves, which made him an instrument to help Bale achieve his dream of playing for his desired team, the ESPN FC reported.

"He always wanted to play for Madrid," Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett told AS. "He could have gone to United and other clubs, but he wanted to go to Madrid."

Meanwhile, the Mirror reported that German footballer Mats Hummels, the central defender of Borussia Dortmund, has a price tag of £47 million -- -the cost Machester United has to pay if it wanted to sign Hummels.

According to the Mirror, United has to compete with English football club Arsenal for Hummels' signature, but the price tag is too big for both teams.

A Daily Express article revealed Hummels' contract will expire summer of 2017. But his teammate, Marco Reus, refused to indicate a release clause in his contract. Reus, as the article reported, wanted to make sure all parties receive a fair deal.

As for Christopher Kramer's fate, the Bleacher Report disclosed Manchester United boss Lous van Gaal is also eyeing the German midfield enforcer to improve his team's defense.
