Apple could bring the price down for the iPhone 6S a.k.a iPhone 7, if the tech giant doesn't suck up production savings.
International Business Times reported that according to sources (The Wall Street Journal and 9to5Mac), tech companies could enjoy lower or even no tariff charges for businesses done in China.
Apple, along with other tech companies, "could save between 25 to 30 per cent of manufacturing costs should the new trade pact between China and the United States [be] finalized," noted International Business Times.
"Apple products stand to benefit from the deal as soon China lowers the tariff it slaps on multicomponent semiconductors (MCOs) that the company ship into the nation for the mass production of the iPhones and iPads," explained International Business Times.
This could mean a price tag lower than that of the iPhone 6 -- which is $199 with a 2-year-contract. A cheaper iPhone 6s / 7 would be good but what about its specs and features?
There are plenty of rumors about what's to come with the next iPhone but we're rounding up the most interesting ones below.
Wireless Charging
Tech Radar notes that the new way of boosting battery levels "works" and "feels like living in the future." The report adds, "An iPhone 6S or iPhone 7 with wireless charging would be great, especially if the same charger worked for next year's Apple Watch too."
CMLive said the next iPhone will have solar cells instead. "...all you have to do is to bring with you this phone and take a stroll on park during lunch. This was said to boost your battery," it said.
3D Display
We had this extensively covered in a previous report. As said, Apple is allegedly developing a "naked eye 3D screen" for the iPhone 6S or iPhone 7, reported MacRumors, citing a Taiwanese source.
The iPhone-maker was also linked to 3D devices after it acquired PrimeSense in November. The said company "created the 3D motion-sensing technology behind Microsoft's Kinect accessory for Xbox, but had also been working on 3D solutions for other industries, including retail, health care, robotics, and even interactive displays for PC and mobile," reported Business Insider.
iPhone 6 Plus-like Camera
The iPhone 6 Plus' 8 MP front camera with optical image stabilization, phase detection autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash could be on the next iPhone, according to Tech Radar's wish list. But an 8 MP snapper will likely not impress a year from now -- especially with some smartphones already sporting 20 MP cameras now (Nokia Lumias).
The iPhone 6S or iPhone 7, as some call the next iPhone, is rumored to be out as early as next year, as we previously said.
