The next installment of the "Gran Turismo" franchise will be out as early as next year and the team behind the game is hiring.

Attack of the Fanboy reported that Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia posted a job notice -- looking for new staff to work with for "Gran Turismo 7."

A translation of the notice, courtesy of DualShockers, reads: "Gran Turismo Production Staff Wanted!! - CG Artists, Technical Artists, Software Engineers, Tools Engineers," noted Attack of the Fanboy.

This could very well mean that Polyphony Digital is gearing up for "Gran Turismo 7" production. And it seems that the team is pretty much confident it'll be better than "Gran Turismo 6."

Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi told Games that the next-generation installment of the franchise will definitely be "much better," thanks to the PS4.

"Everything will be running naturally," Yamauchi told Games. "PS3 was much, much more difficult. The high quality of data that we have being rendered on the PS4 I think is going to make an incredible difference."

It can be recalled that "Gran Turismo 6" disappointed some fans of the franchise. IGN said that its "abundance of content and tight controls; but the lackluster sound design, which downgraded muscle engines to a mere buzz, and the inconsequential results of otherwise life-threatening mistakes, held the game back from being one of the best in the series."

Attack of the Fanboy noted that the most recent GT installment "didn't sell as well as its predecessors."And it seems that Polyphony Digital is aware of that.

"For GT7, myself and my staff have a clear vision: to do everything we couldn't do in GT6," Yamauchi added in the interview. "We want to make it very Gran Turismo. By that I mean it's going to be a game that matches the very era that we live in, in 2015 or 2016."

Attack of the Fan Boy, in another report, said that Yamauichi revealed the GT7 improvements to Italian gaming website, Quattrroruote. "Gran Turismo 7" will reportedly have "better graphics, better physics engine, smarter AI and more online options," Yamauichi told the Quattrroruote.

"Gran Turismo 7" in the next year or the following year would indeed please most "Gran Turismo" fans -- especially those on the PS4. However, rumor has it that a "Gran Turismo 7" prologue is also quite possible.

Will a prologue suffice or should Polyphony Digital release a full game instead?
