Developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks, "Dishonored" might be one of the most popular stealth-action-adventure games of 2012.
Following the announcement of "Prey 2," fans could now be asking whether Bethesda takes its aim for a "Dishonored" sequel, wrote Air Herald.
In "Dishonored," players get to experience the character of the Empress' then-trusted bodyguard (Corvo Attano), who eventually became the subject of blame for the former's murder. In order to keep up, Corvo journeys his world as a masked assassin, driven by revenge and the memory of an honored yesterday.
Air Herald predicted that the success of the franchise could indeed fuel a sequel. The first installment arrived in earlier consoles PS3 and Xbox 360, as well as the PC. This time, the outlet cited claims that the sequel is underway for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and again, the PC.
iDigitalTimes mentioned in an earlier report that Bethesda studio Arkane Lyon could be working on the sequel. The outlet cited job listings that included a certain "Engine Programmer," whose description provided the juiciest details for speculations today.
As reported, the position required help for a game slated for release in the PS4, Xbox One and PC. It sought applicants familiar with first-person shooters and role-playing mechanics -- which of course, appear to be the essentials of "Dishonored."
When the sequel is coming remains to be a question, although The REM shed some speculations claiming that June 2015 could see the rise of the sequel. According to the outlet, this shall come in the form of a preview. Bethesda's updates on other games are also expected.
The source added that "Dishonored 2" could feature "more action and violence," with a possible setting in Tyvia.
Meanwhile, rumors cited by Christian Post tell that the game will come out in 2016. The outlet mentioned a leaked slide image which revealed the logo of "Dishonored 2". The picture announced what seemed to be an invite-only conference, "Witness the full reveal at E3 2014!" Below the image was a hashtag which stated "Darkness of Tyvia."
However, the source noted that the game didn't show up in July's Electronic Entertainment Expo, implying that the image was a hoax.
NowGamer's unnamed source spilled that the making of "Dishonored 2" will be headed by Harvey Smith. He was noted to be Raphael Colontonio's co-creative director in the game's first installment.
In addition, the outlet said the sequel could be shifting the protagonist role to Emily Kaldwin, a child character from the first game. It is also likely that "Dishonored 2" is set some time in the future of its predecessor.
