With rumors of Kobe Bryant transferring to the New York Knicks or the Washington Wizards, reports have surfaced that Cleveland Cavaliers player, Kevin Love, will soon find his way to the Los Angeles Lakers.
"Watch out for Love. Indications are he will seriously consider the opt out and has his eyes on a return to Los Angeles, where he attended college and where the Lakers long have had him on their free agent wish list," NBA reporter Sam Smith was quoted by USA Today.
The report said this may be a crazy idea from Smith but noted that this could be a really bad option for Love since he is still taking his ground on his current team and fellow Cavalier players are also on the process of familiarizing their roles as a team.
But if in case he chooses to transfer to other teams at the end of the season, USA Today said he certainly can consider the option, especially if he is offered a big amount of money.
"Love in Los Angeles opens up a wave of potential signings, like Love's former UCLA teammate Russell Westbrook, whose contract ends after the 2016-17 season," USA Today added in the report.
A similar CBS Sports report noted that Love is already "eyeing a contract" with the Lakers ever since his former team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, did not extend his five-year contract.
It added that by next season he is already estimated to make $16.7 million and if he will decide to transfer, CBS Sports said he will make more than $18 million.
Some reports claim Love is willing to team up with Oklahoma City Thunder's Westbrook in Los Angeles. But these things just remain as rumors and the public would just have to wait next year to see if these will work out.
Smith's report about Love's possible transfer already has a disclaimer that reads: "All opinions expressed by Sam Smith are solely his own and do not reflect the opinions of the Chicago Bulls or its Basketball Operations staff, parent company, partners, or sponsors. His sources are not known to the Bulls and he has no special access to information beyond the access and privileges that go along with being an NBA accredited member of the media."
USA Today said that it is still so early to tell if Love is willing to make this decision but noted that this is an exciting theory in the NBA along with other possible transfers of players.
