Veterans Day 2014 Deals & Freebies: Free Meals, Services; List of Stores Open on Holiday

It's payback time: On Tuesday, Nov. 11, America is celebrating Veterans Day 2014 in honor of all the elders who fought for the nation's freedom. As part of the tradition, veterans all across the country will get access to treats and freebies -- from haircuts to coffee to gym use.

We've wrapped up some of what's in store for these brave warriors below. It is encouraged that proofs of military service (such as ID) be brought to successfully avail the promos. Click on the links for full description.

Meals

Applebee's - The grill and bar chain offers freebies from a limited menu, available in participating outlets for dine-in.

Bob Evans - Veterans and active duty military are in for hotcake buffet here.

California Pizza Kitchen - The outlet allows free selection from its pizza, salad or pasta menu for dine-in only.

Hooters - Veterans may redeem free meals worth up to $10.99 (with drink purchase) in 345 Hooters outlets nationwide.

Krispy Kreme - Participating stores offer a free doughnut of any variety and a small coffee to all veterans/active duty personnel without the need for ID.

Red Robin - Veterans and active duty personnel will get a free Tavern Double Burger with Bottomless Steak Fries in participating locations, dine-in.

Starbucks - According to USA Today, the coffee company will be offering a free, tall brewed coffee to veterans, active military and their spouses on Tuesday. The outlet also has an ongoing career program for veterans and military spouses.

Texas Roadhouse - The outlet offers free lunch from any of the ten available dishes, including a choice of Coca-Cola, iced tea, sweet tea or coffee as drink.

Services & Recreation

24-Hour Fitness - As reported by iDigital Times, service members are set to receive a weekend of workouts at health clubs nationwide from Nov. 8 to 11.

Chuck E. Cheese - The food and entertainment chain will be offering 20 free tokens to veterans and active military from Nov. 9 to 15, wrote PR Newswire. Military ID or other proofs of service are said to be required.

Colonial Williamsburg - Veterans, active military men, retirees, reservists and direct dependents get free admission from Nov. 7 to 11.  

Great Clips - Customers who drop by Tuesday on any salon nationwide, will get a free haircut card redeemable by a veteran from Nov. 11 to Dec 31.

JDog Junk Removal & Hauling - Disabled military veterans who book a service on Tuesday are slated to receive free removal services.

National Parks - The National Park Service waives all entrance fees for everybody on Veterans Day.

Westgate Resorts - Select properties will offer 1,500 free reservations for a 3-day, 2-night vacation. The outlet reminds prospects to check back on Tuesday at 9 a.m. EST. Click here for all the details.

"Retail stores, including Walmart, Target, liquor stores, grocery stores and most malls will be open for regular business hours on November 11," said Inquisitr.

In addition, Inquisitr said that "most banks and credit unions will be closed" as well as all USPS branches, all libraries and most public schools.
