The start of the new NBA season has been marred with numerous injuries and suspensions that have crippled some teams and have taken away important players in their rosters.

One of these is Indiana Pacers Roy Hibbert who bruised his left knee during the game against the Washington Wizards on Saturday. NBA.com said that he had to leave the game and was not able to return until it ended. SB Nation explained that Hibbert sustained the injury after he "banged knees" with Solomon Hill.

The 7-foot center is still being observed for his injury and there is still no news on his return.

Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson, on the other hand, was also out for the team's game on Sunday because of a sprained right hand. Mercury News said that this is Thompson's first time to miss a game due to an injury.

The report noted that Thompson got the injury after the Warriors won on Saturday. His tests were negative but the player claimed he felt discomfort on his hands during warmup exercises. Thompson is a big loss for the Warriors since he is one the leading scorers of the team. He will be temporarily replaced by Leandro Barbosa.

Another player who has been sidelined due to an injury is Cleveland Cavalier Matthew Dellavedova who, according to an NBA.com report, will miss the games for about a month because of a sprained left knee. Dellavedova reportedly sprained his "medial collateral ligament" during the fourth quarter of his team's devastating loss against the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday.

His absence is surely hurting the Cavs as he is one of the best ball defenders on the team and his teammates would have to wait for a few more weeks to see him again in action.

Aside from Dellavedova, the Cavs also has one more injured player - Dion Waiters, who suffered a bruised lower back during the team's Friday game. He has been listed questionable for Monday's game with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Waiters' injury has also caused Denver Nuggets' Darrel Arthur a one-game suspension when he shoved the former while Waiters was running to the basket causing him to slump hard on the floor thus the back injury.

WPTZ said that Arthur's act was tagged as Flagrant 2 and that he will serve his suspension on Sunday when his team plays against the Portland Trail Blazers.

These early incidents of injuries among NBA players is a clear message that they should all be extra cautious of their moves on the team for them to avoid any unnecessary hindrances during the season which affect not only individual performances but also team effort and standings.
