Expect a more robust and crisp experience while playing "WWE 2K15" on your PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles once they are out on the stalls, game community manager Marcus Stephenson assured the gaming public.
"No issues on frame rate. I played a smooth 60fps (frames per second) -- it was the way the videos were captured. Just confirmed it," Stephenson said on 2K forums after gamers reported lag and slow motion experience while playing on their PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.
While the 60-fps speed is a welcome development to the game, Attackofthefanboy.com reported that the game will also be on 1080-pixel resolution for PS4 and Xbox One players. It will be available on Nov. 18 in North America and Nov. 21 in Europe.
"WWE 2K15" was previously released for PS3 and Xbox 360 on Oct. 28 on Oct. 31 in North America and in Europe, respectively.
Stephenson answered the concern of a certain user, "KingSheamus", who reported "slow motion" in the Dolph Ziggler versus Kane video in the game.
"[W]hat the hell is with that? ... What a way to ruin the momentum of a match if you can't turn it off," KingSheamous wrote on the 2K forums.
Another forum member, "supercrazy," said the game also froze his PS3: "I have the same issue on my PS3 from 'WWE 2K15' I downloaded from the PSN Store. Not only does it have that issue but it also freezes the game after ... it freezes my PS3," "supercrazy" said.
While most users were happy of Stephenson's claim, others said the slow motion is not an issue of frame rate but of the special effects.
Forum member "Top Heel" said, "... The slow motion glitch people was talking about was shown on the Gamescom build slowing the game at random points ... for no apparent reason and has been fixed."
The game website touted the "WWE 2K15" to "usher a new era of WWE video games and deliver the gaming experience that fans have sought for generations."
From just a fighting game with WWE superstars in it, "WWE 2K15" lets the player experience the All-New MyCAREER Mode that allows the user to customize the superstar through an authentic wrestling career -- spanning NXT, RAW to the WWE Championship -- among others.
According to a Playstationlifestyle.net article, the separate downloadable content included the "2K Showcase," which has three new playable storylines of WWE superstars Randy Orton (One More Match), Mark Henry (Hall of Pain) and Ultimate Warrior (Path of the Warrior).
In addition, WWE fans may also avail of the Season Pass program for $24.99. It allows access to all unlockable content available in the game, all three 2K Showcase stories and exclusive playable WWE Diva Paige.
Despite its promises, gaming news and reviews site, IGN, gave the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions a 5.9 out of 10.
"'WWE 2K15' is like seeing Brock Lesnar going from breaking The Undertaker's streak to losing to Hornswoggle ... Not only is it surprising, it's also pretty sad," IGN wrote on its review.
