Boxing legend Mike Tyson, in a radio interview, admitted that he was sexually abused as a child by an old man who snatched him off the streets of Brooklyn.

In an interview with Opie Radio, Tyson admitted that an "old creepy man" abducted him and abused him when he was just a child.

"He snatched me off the street. I was a little kid...[he was an] old man," the now 48-year-old Tyson said during the interview.

"[He] bullied me, sexually abused me and stuff. Never seen him again," he added.

Tyson recounted that he was able to escape the one-time incident but admitted that he never told anyone about it even the authorities. "I just went on with my life."

Asked if his life changed after the experience, the former boxing champion said he was not sure if it did.

"I don't always remember, but maybe I do but I don't. I'm not ashamed or embarrassed by it," he said.

Troubled past

Hollywood Life said, in an article, that they were "surprised" with the revelation of the boxer's painful past, noting how he violently reacted on live television when asked about his 1992 rape conviction.

Tyson was charged with raping 18-year-old Miss Black Rhode Island, Desiree Washington, inside an Indianapolis hotel room a year before his conviction. The boxer was slapped with three years jail time.

When he returned after spending time in jail, Daily Mail said that Tyson once again proved he was someone to be afraid of when he bit the ears of Evander Holyfield during their fight in 1997. The incident caused his disqualification and temporary suspension from boxing. In 2003, he declared bankruptcy and three years later, retired from professional boxing.

After he retired, Tyson made some appearances in TV shows like "Entourage" and "Brothers" and also secured a cameo role in the movie, "Hangover," which was released in 2009.

More revelations

Prior to sharing his painful experience, the boxer had already revealed his difficulties, in an autobiography titled "Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth."

He revealed in the book that he never knew his real father and that he never met him in his entire life. At 7, Tyson and his family were evicted from their house after his mother lost her job at the Women's House of Detention in Manhattan.

Daily Mail said that this experience taught Tyson to steal from neighbors and be involved in other forms of crimes. He also claimed that whenever he would come home, he would get beaten up by his own mother. A movie by Muhammad Ali inspired Tyson to reach his dream of becoming a really great boxer

"We watched a movie called 'The Greatest' about Muhammad Ali. When it was over...we were shocked when Ali himself walked out on that stage. I thought, I want to be that guy," he told Daily Mail.
