Kuwait and Lebanon will face off in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers on Friday.

The two sides are locked in contention for the second spot in the group. Kuwait has five points in three games while Lebanon has four in the same span.

Lebanon was annihilated 5-0 by Iran in the opening match of the group stage but responded with a 5-2 win over Thailand and a 1-1 draw with Kuwait.

Kuwait holds a solid record against Lebanon throughout the two nations' histories. In 28 matches between the two sides, Kuwait holds a record of 13 wins, eight draws and seven losses; four of the seven defeats came in the first four games between these two nations. In the subsequent 24, Kuwait has only lost three times with Lebanon; only one of those victories has come in the last 11 games. However, Lebanon holds the edge when it comes to competitive matches.
