'Dancing With the Stars' Season 19 'Halloween Night' Recap: Who Went Home?
The Halloween episode of "Dancing With the Stars" on October 27 featured the usual spooky tricks associated with the event and even returned scary head judge Len Goodman. But the real highlight of this episode is the elimination, along with Alfonso Ribeiro's special announcement.
Antonio Sabato Jr. is the latest celebrity to leave the reality show, and he brought along his partner, Cheryl Burke, with him. According to E! Online, their Viennese waltz didn't impress the judges, earning them a 27 out of 40. Julianne Hough commented that "things just went wrong" with the two's performance.
"I don't think the spell worked. It makes me uncomfortable to watch you," judge Carrie Ann Inaba said, as cited by Us Weekly. Goodman says that the pair's dance was alright, but it wasn't what he hoped for.
Sabato only has kind words for his partner, saying "I was able to dance with one of the best dancers in the world. She's a friend of mine, part of my family right now and it's all about the fans and that's why I'm here and the man upstairs," as reported by Yahoo! News.
Burke, on the other hand, said that she is proud of Sabato and that he made season 19 of "Dancing With the Stars" memorable.
"I'm just so proud of Antonio," Burke said on the Yahoo! News report. "This has been the most memorable season for me for so many reasons and it's just so sad for me to say goodbye. But I just had the most amazing time with you and I'm so proud of you," she added.
Bethany Mota and Derek Hough's Paso Doble number, however, gained praises from the judges who gave the duo a 39 out of 40. Hough, Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli raved on the performance afterwards, giving the pair 10s while returning judge Goodman gave them a 9.
"A paso doble painted on a grand operatic scale -- absolutely fantastic," Tonioli said on the Us Weekly report.
According to Us Weekly, the other pairs' scores are as follows:
Tommy Chong and Peta Murgatroyd (28 out of 40)
Lea Thompson and Artem Chigvintsev (39 out of 40)
Michael Waltrip and Emma Slater (20 out of 40)
Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy (31 out of 40)
Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson (36 out of 40)
Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas (36 out of 40)
Ribeiro's performance this week was joined by a special announcement on the show. According to another report from E! Online, the dancer is expecting his second child with wife Andrea.
After his first dance on air, Ribeiro told everyone, "My son, it's his first birthday here today. I'm happy that he is here with me. And as a wonderful present, my wife and I decided to get him a little brother or sister. So we're having a baby."
Congratulations on that wonderful news, Alfonso and Andrea!
