Houston Rockets vs New York Knicks, TV Schedule, Live Stream, Where To Watch: Jeremy Lin Returns To Madison Square Garden
Jeremy Lin will make his second return to New York as the Houston Rockets face the New York Knicks on Thursday night at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY.
Lin, who became an instant sensation with his string of scintillating performances during the 2011-12 season while still playing for the Knicks, showed a glimpse of "Linsanity" in the last two games of the Rockets.
The 25-year-old point guard erupted for 31 points in their 110-104 overtime win over the Toronto Raptors on Monday. Lin sustained his momentum on Wednesday night as he scored a season-high 34 points, while also dishing out 12 assists, although it was not enough as the Rockets absorbed a 123-117 overtime loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.
Lin is expected to have another productive night on Thursday, especially if superstar guard James Harden, who is a game-time decision, will remain on the sideline.
Harden, who is averaging a team-best 24.9 points to go along with 5.1 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game, missed their overtime loss to the 76ers due a bruised foot, which has been bothering the four-year veteran all season long.
Meanwhile, the Knicks will also look to sustain their momentum and get back on the .500 mark. The Knicks bounced back from a 31-point blowout loss to the San Antonio Spurs with a hard-earned 95-91 win against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday.
Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks in scoring with 25 points on a weak 9-for-25 shooting night, while Andrea Bargnani had his best game in a Knicks uniform, tallying 20 points and 11 rebounds.
The Knicks will still play without starting center Tyson Chandler, who is expected to miss at least a month due to a non-displaced fracture of his right fibula.
Without Chandler, the Knicks will have to exert more effort on the defensive end of the floor to slow down superstar center Dwight Howard, who is averaging 18.2 points to go along with 14.9 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game this season.
The Rockets will head into the match as the favorite to win based on their previous record against the Knicks. The Rockets have won in 16 of their last 17 meetings against the Knicks and they have defeated New York in eight of their last nine meetings at the Madison Square Garden.
