Taylor Swift Harry Styles Back Together? 'Shake It Off' Singer: 'I Have Love in My Life'
Country superstar Taylor Swift opened up about her love life -- or the lack thereof -- but the abundance of love in her life.
During a talk with E! News' Jason Kennedy and Jesse Giddings the 24-year-old was pretty candid about her dating situation. She clarified some statements she made in the past about relationships and gushed about how well things are going for her as a single gal.
"It's not that [I've sworn off dating] as much as I'm just very protective of my happiness," explained the 1989 singer. "I found a place in my life that feels really great and I'm not willing to compromise that for just anyone, and so, you can paraphrase that all you want into something very extreme, but they make what I say extreme no matter what I say."
The country crooner went on to day: "So I'm really happy about the fact that being single doesn't feel like being alone. I have love in my life, I just don't have a relationship, and that feels really natural right now."
She recently told The Sun that she's been unattached and without a man in her life for over 18 months.
"I get stressed when I think about getting into a relationship because I get beat up in the press whenever I go near a boy," admitted the blonde beauty. "So you can understand why I'm taking a bit of a break. A relationship is not in my brain right now."
Swift has been linked to a number of A-List celebrities that include the likes Harry Styles, Joe Jonas, John Mayer, Taylor Lautner and Jake Gyllenhaal but she's in a place where not having any of that is alright with her.
The "Shake It Off" artist was last linked to One Direction star Harry Styles but based on these revelations, a reconciliation is probably not in the works.
Aside from her love life, Swift also took the time to talk about her music.
"Well, what's interesting to me is that the formula for my songwriting has never changed. My sound has changed, my style has changed, so many different elements of my life have changed, but the fact that I live my life, I get inspired by my life, I write songs to deal with my life and to cope with it-some of those songs are good enough to make the albums that I put out. I'll write 100 songs and only 13 of them make the album," commented the star about her writing habits.
Taylor explained that her songwriting method is the same as it's always been. She writes about life and her experiences but "the way the rest of the world views me has changed."
The young singer did however guarantee that she will still write about her life. "I swore to my fans I wouldn't change that, and I'm not going to."
