NBA Free Agency Rumors & News: New York Knicks To Make Push For Kevin Love In 2015
The New York Knicks are still struggling to reach NBA title contender status and they are also in danger of losing superstar Carmelo Anthony via free agency next offseason--which could prompt them to make a bid for two-time All-Star forward Kevin Love.
Desperate to keep their superstar happy and convince him to stay with the Knicks by signing a long-term deal, the Knicks are reportedly devising a plan to be in a good position in signing Love in the 2015 free agency period.
Anthony, who could be a free agent next offseason, is expected to attract interest from other teams with cap space like the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks.
Knowing that they could lose Anthony, the Knicks are expected to add one or two superstars. LeBron James is said to be on the Knicks' radar but the four-time MVP could sign a new deal with the Miami Heat in 2014 and the Knicks will not have enough cap space to lure James next summer.
On the other hand, Kevin Durant will come too late as he is slated to become a free agent in 2016, leaving the Knicks with no better option than signing Love.
"Almost assuredly, Love will exercise his early termination option in two years and take a strong look at where the free-agent landscape stands with the T'wolves. He could re-sign a longer, richer deal with Minnesota, or chase big-market platforms in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and perhaps elsewhere," Adrian Wojnarowski said in his Yahoo Sports report.

Kevin Love is having a big season this year, averaging 26.4 points to go along with 15 rebounds and five assists in their first eight games this season.
