Nexus 6 U.S. Release Date & Price on Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and US Cellular: Top Specs & Features
Finally, Google has unveiled the biggest Nexus smartphone yet -- the Nexus 6.
The 6-inch smartphone joins the tech giant's line of devices sporting new Android releases. Nexus 6 runs under Android 5.0 Lollipop, which confirmed the previously-rumored dessert suffix and disproved the later-coined Android L.
In addition, the Nexus 6 is called on its own. Earlier monikers such as Nexus X and Motorola Shamu are no longer official names of the same smartphone, although they can be of use for another device in the future.
What's up with Nexus 6?
First, the new flagship brands it as "a bigger phone with more everything." Is that way too ambitious for a newcomer? Apparently not, as it is undeniably bigger than Apple's iPhone 6 Plus and Samsung's Galaxy Note 4. Its 6-inch Quad HD display reportedly teems with stunning clarity.
Its lightning-bolt speed is powered by the Snapdragon 805 quad-core 2.7GHz processor, while vibrant graphics come from Adreno 420 GPU.
Google also described the smartphone's camera as a product of advanced computational photography technology and HDR+. Possessing an f2.0 lens and 13 MP camera, the accompanying OIS feature allows users to take quality photos with or without much light.
Powered by a 3220 mAh battery, the Nexus 6 can work for 24 hours when it is fully-charged. Charging the device for 15 minutes allows it to run for 6 long hours.
Off to Google's "sweetest release yet," the Android 5.0 Lollipop prides in granting users a bold, colorful and responsive UI design that works in a wide array of devices -- from watches to televisions to cars. Its battery-saving feature extends the device's life for 90 minutes. ART, the freshest Android Runtime, improves application responsiveness.
The grandness of the Nexus 6 combined with Lollipop's adaptability seems to promise users the best Google smartphone experience yet.
Droid Life reported that according to Google's announcement of the Nexus 6's availability, it can be pre-ordered in late October. It will hit stores by November. Users have the option for an unlocked version though Play Store, or a monthly contract via AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular and Verizon.
Motorola said that the Nexus 6's pre-order price starts at $649. The outlet added that it comes in 32GB or 64GB storage options, and Midnight Blue or Cloud White color choices.
For now, only T-Mobile has announced Nexus 6 for Nov. 12 at zero downpayment for a $27.08 x 24 months payment option. Both Sprint and AT&T announced that more information will come soon.
