'Hunger Games Mockingjay' Part 1 News Update: Trailer Released as Premiere Date Looms
The highly anticipated third installment of the popular "The Hunger Games" film adaptation is set to hit the big screen soon but for now, a full-length trailer will have to make do.
According to the Christian Post, the latest trailer shows Peeta played by Josh Hutcherson fighting on the side of the Capitol. This makes Jennifer Lawrence's character Katniss disheartened -- pushing herself more to rescue her boyfriend the soonest.
Katniss even threatened Plutarch Heavensbee, played by the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and a new character, President Alma Coin, portrayed by Julianne Moore, in order to save Peeta. She was also willing to give up her "Mockingjay" position for her beau.
She accepted the position as symbol of every District's rebellion against the domineering Capitol. Woody Harrelson, appearing as Haymitch, tried to calm Katniss down by explaining how the Capitol is just using Peeta as its weapon -- similar to how they are using her against the opposition too.
But instead of feeling assured, she made her own deal. "You will rescue Peeta at the earliest opportunity, or you will find another Mockingjay," Katniss answered in the trailer.
Aside from the "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay" Part 1 teasers and trailers released, stills were also unveiled, reported Hypable.
Several photos show Katniss looking at a vase of roses; Gale, played by Liam Hemsworth, weilding a heavy duty gun for a weapon; a scene in the woods showing peacekeepers in search of rebels; Cressida and Castor together on set, and another of Katniss holding hands in unison with President Coin.
Aside from a trailer and several stills, the Aussie Grammy award winning artist Lorde has also recently released the first single of the movie's soundtrack.
The 17-year-old singer made the big reveal via her Tumblr account saying, "It's my first offering from what I hope will be a soundtrack you love."
Since then, her social media accounts have been bombarded with comments, mostly from fans of the young adult film adaptation written by Suzanne Collins.
The track, titled "Yellow Flicker Beat", has lyrics and vocals that stand out above the equally impressive synths and drums, reminiscent of the personalities and traits of Katniss Everdeen, noted Rolling Stone.
The "Royals" hitmaker first announced that she was assigned to curate the entire "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay" Part 1 movie soundtrack back in July.
And just like the movie, which is set to premiere on November 21st, many fans are eager to hear the rest of the songs of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay" soundtrack.
