Mass Effect 4 News: First Images Released by Bioware, No Release Date Revealed
The Mass Effect series was one of the the most critically acclaimed game series of the past generation, and developer Bioware will seek to continue that legacy on the next generation of consoles when they are launched in November. Bioware, in honor of N7 Day, has revealed some of the first concrete details about the next game in the series that tease fans with some images of the new game.
Many different Bioware staff members tweeted out photos of the game being worked on. One shows the game being played on the PC with what looks like an Xbox 360 controller. Another showed a developer designing a world for the game, with an area being developed that has a giant mesa towering out of the background. Finally, one tweet showed a new character and a possible vehicle that will be included in the new Mass Effect game, which looks to be quite intimidating.
Bioware decided to release all these photos in honor of N7 Day. For those who do not get the significance of N7, it is a special designation for marines in the Mass Effect universe who pass a certain level of training. Commander Shepard, the protagonist of the first three games in the series, had this distinction. Being that this rush of information was released fittingly on Nov. 7, it seems as though Bioware has chosen that day to mark N7 Day from now on. Bioware also gave a brief statement about the significance of the day to IGN and how it is being used to celebrate the people who made the Mass Effect series successful:
"As we celebrate N7 day, we look back at the talented people who worked on the Mass Effect trilogy, and we remember our inspiration for some of the great pieces that have made Mass Effect so iconic. We celebrate the fans, for their support, and for their commitment to the original characters that we proudly decorate our studios with, and the new one's we've added along the way."
However, this new information does not indicate that Mass Effect 4 is anywhere close to being released. Publisher EA claims that they have nothing to report about the game, and Bioware is busy focusing on getting Dragon Age: Inquisition ready for launch after it was delayed. Until then, these photos released on Twitter will have to do for fans waiting to get back into the universe of the Mass Effect series.
