'Transformers 5' Release Date, Cast & Plot: Optimus Prime Wants Michael Bay Back as Director
"Transformers" director Michael Bay won't be back for its fifth installment, and mixed reactions were given out by fans. But for Optimus Prime voice talent Peter Cullen, he could only wish the director would stay for the next movie.
During his one on one interview with Cinema Blend, the voice actor did not hesitate to express how much he wants Bay to return. Despite the controversial criticisms the director has received from film audiences on his previous works, Cullen only had good words to say about him.
He recalls how Bay is capable of bringing a high level of energy on the set and described him as a "hands-on director." He also mentioned that his stuntman son, Clay, has worked with the 49-year-old director and confirmed on a similar level how diligent the filmmaker is when at work.
At one point of the interview, he gave a message to Bay and asked him to come back to do "Transformers 5."
'Transformers 5' Plot
The voice talent remained secretive when asked about the plot details of the next installment of the movie franchise, besides the fact that his part in the film will be done later than everybody else. He only assured fans that it will create a great deal of excitement as much as the four previous "Transformers" films have offered in the past.
Screenrant wrote that whoever gets to sit on the director's chair for "Transformers 5," he will work under the same set of challenges that Bay faced. However, he will be guided with the reputable team of the movie that include the artists, cinematographers and the rest of the film crew.
If Michael Bay won't change his mind about not coming back for the next film, then Paramount will most probably go for a new director who will work within the filming style of Bay, someone who will deliver an impressive performance at the box office.
Release date rumors for "Transformers 5" pegged the movie for 2016 and no cast list has been mentioned as well. There were reports that Mark Wahlberg won't return for the next installment, leaving the lead actor slot open, reports Breathecast.
Some speculations say that former "Transformers" cast, Josh Duhamel, will be back in the next installment while others are guessing that the new movie will have a female protagonist, particularly Megan Fox.
