Air Jordan Release Dates 2014: Jordan 1 Retro 'Jeter' & Jordan 14 'Black Toe'
Two Jordan brand must-haves are again coming to stores near you in just in two days. The Air Jordan 14 Retro "Black Toe" and the Jordan 1 Retro "Jeter" are set to be launched this coming Sept. 20, Saturday.
A Franchise Herald report said that the "Black Toe" is making a return in the market as the edition has already been initially released as a retro sneaker in 2006. This year's release is reportedly the White/Black-Varsity Red-Metallic Silver colorway of the shoe. The said footwear has white-colored upper design and has some shades of black and red in other parts of the shoe with a black outsole.
According to Nike's website, the shoe can be purchased for $170 per pair. Gradeschool sizes will also be available for $120, while preschool sizes are sold for $75 and toddler sizes are available for $55 per pair.
"Aficionados of the original Air Jordan 14 can rejoice with the return of the classic White/Black-Varsity Red colorway. Originally released in 1998, the Air Jordan 14 takes inspiration from a love of sports cars and is personified through its sleek lines and premium materials," Nike said in its website.
The Jordan "Jeter" collection, on the other hand, will release the Air Jordan 1 Retro High in Midnight Navy/Metallic Gold-Sail colorway which will also be available on Saturday. Franchise Herald mentioned that the shoe will feature a blue-based leather for its upper part and then gold logos adorning the shoe plus a white Nike Swoosh with white outsole.
This will be available for $140 per pair. Its pack will also include the Jordan Flex Trainer which was reportedly made to "pay tribute to Derek Jeter, the New York Yankees superstar shortstop." The trainer will also follow the Midnight Navy/Metallic Gold-Sail colorway with a retail price of $120.
"Jordan Brand pays RE2PECT to an icon with a special release of the Air Jordan 1 and Flight Flex Trainer inspired by the classic New York uniforms. Midnight Navy and Sail dominate each shoe, with subtle highlights including pinstripes and gold logos inspired by greatness," Nike said in a release on its website.
It also mentioned that they came up with this design to recognize the "incredible career and character" of Jeter in baseball. "Coming up as a rookie in the bright lights of New York City, Jeter has won numerous accolades and achieved success on every level," it added.
With the release of these two new additions to the Jordan brand, Nike fans will surely beat each other to the stores just to get hold of these shoes made not only for sale purposes but also to bring back something from the past and to honor an athlete's contributions to his sport.
