The Walking Dead Season 5 Update: Official Synopsis, Spoilers, Rumors
The countdown has officially started for "The Walking Dead's" epic return to television. The Internet has been abuzz with rumors and speculation about Terminus and its inhabitants' true intentions.
Unlike in past seasons, Season Five will pick up directly where Season 4 left off. It's unclear yet if fans will enjoy this, or if the long periods of time were actually thrilling due to the viewer having to catch up on what has happened since it left off. The time gaps allow for a more 'true viewing' show, where the story continues on whether it is aired on television or not.
Season 5 however will break this trend and should jump right into the group being trapped in the rail car. To add to the fire FOX has released the official Season 5 synopsis, which is the best piece of evidence to date. The cast and crew has been extremely closed mouthed, which makes this release all the more pertinent.
"Season Four of The Walking Dead ended with Rick and the group outgunned, outnumbered, and trapped in a train car awaiting a grim fate.
Season Five picks up shortly thereafter. What follows is a story that weaves the true motives of the people of Terminus with the hopeful prospect of a cure in Washington, D.C., the fate of the group's lost comrades, as well as new locales, new conflicts, and new obstacles in keeping the group together and staying alive.
Stories will break apart and intersect. The characters will find love and hate. Peace and conflict. Contentment and terror. And, in the quest to find a permanent, safe place to call home, one question will haunt them...
After all they've seen, all they've done, all they've sacrificed, lost, and held on to no matter what the cost...
Who do they become?"
From the synopsis and with prior knowledge of the comic book and show, fans will be able to fill in the blanks about the seemingly vague statements given in the synopsis. Cannibalism is an interesting rumor that has been spread about the people of Terminus.
On the more personal level, Daryl Dixon's sexuality is rumored to also be explored in the coming season. The comic's creator Robert Kirkman has confirmed that the issue has been floated around the writers meetings.
Overall fans can speculate as much as they want, but "The Walking Dead" wouldn't be as great as it is if there weren't surprises and favorite characters being killed off.
