Nexus 5 Release Date, Features and Pricce: Google Accidentally Leaks Smartphone Specs on Play Store
Google has "accidentally" leaked the pricing plans and specs for its much anticipated Nexus 5 phone on its Play Store, only to remove the update shortly later, according to a Times of India report.
The upcoming Nexus model has been quite a hot topic among tech purveyors and Android fans, with reports of pricing and features cropping up on the tech blogosphere frequently. The temporary Google listing on Play Store only confirms what Nexus enthusiasts have been expecting with the upcoming device, Times of India said.
PhoneArena.com also caught wind of the leakage, detailing the listing in a report. According to the said website, the new Nexus smartphone will debut at $349 for its 16GB model. It will also run on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat and will boast of a large 5-inch, 1080p display, and an awesome 8.0 megapixel camera that utilizes Sony sensors.
The previous Nexus model's 16 GB version was offered at $349 on its launch date. Its 8GB and 32GB variants sold for $299 and $399 a piece.
Times of India also reported that Canadian tech website Mobile Syrup has posted official press images of the new phone on its website. The image featured the sleek phone with a text that reads Telus, the name of the Canadian telecom company that was said to offer the device.
Nexus 5 appeared briefly on the Play Store, together with other Android flagship devices, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10.
Phones Review U.K. speculates that the Nexus 5 will be launched anytime soon, with a rumored launch date of October 28.
Earlier reports of Google sending out invites to an October 24 event have also fueled rumors about the most awaited release date for the smartphone, the website reported.
