Simone Battle Dead: X Factor Finalist's Death Due to Suicide?
Simone Battle has committed suicide--this is the final statement coming from authorities to explain the 25-year-old singer's cause of death. The cause was determined two days after her body was found at her West Hollywood abode. Huffington Post reported that this ruling was revealed by Los Angeles County Coroner's Lt. Fred Corral.
However, Simone's father, Anthony, is in apparent confusion.
According to Mirror UK, his daughter didn't seem to show any signs of depression, said the singer's father. TMZ likewise reported that though the two "hadn't spoke on the phone in a few weeks," they stll communicate through text.
He maintains that the singer seemed fine. "It's possible she may have had an invisible disability."
Simone was found dead in her room, according to Anthony. She was found by her boyfriend--hanging in the closet of the bedroom, on the morning of September 5. Anthony does not suspect foul play.
Simone is a former "X Factor" finalist and G.R.L. singer. Hollywood Life said in a report:
"Simone auditioned for The X Factor in 2011. She performed 'When I Grow Up' by The Pussycat Dolls in front of the celebrity judges. She was ultimately eliminated when she made it to the Top 17. When news of her death broke, her X Factor family, including the judges, took the time to offer their condolences."
Simon Cowell, one of the show's judges, expressed his regret through a tweet saying, "I am so sad to hear about the news Simone Battle has passed away. She was such a fun nice person. It's such a loss. Rest in peace Simone."
Paula Abdul, a former judge, also tweeted, "My heart & prayers go out 2 @GRLSimone's family, band mates, & loved ones. Such a beautiful sweet promising star. May she rest in peace. xoP."
Meanwhile, Simone's last tweet said, "Headed to see @evanmellows perform", including a clapping emoticon and a photo of her.
Evan Mellows, whom she referred to in the tweet said, "I'd give it all to hear your sweet song once more..." Another reads, "I don't believe. I can't breathe. Wake me please".
Our thoughts and prayers go with Simone's family, friends, and to everyone who loves her.
