'The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1' Release Date, Cast & Trailer: New Photo Teaser Features Mysterious Character
Katniss Everdeen finally gets a shot. Or maybe not.
It is the most mysterious teaser so far. The photo shows a figure's back, which is essentially Katniss as hinted by the bow and arrows. Katniss' signature single braid-lock is the most suggestive of the photo's character. We can be sure that it's a girl, but could it be Katniss? Or is another character up on the rise?
The photo sports fierceness with a tagline that reads "I am. I will." This quote comes from Katniss' appearance in the last video trailer released by Lionsgate titled "Our Leader the Mockingjay." See video above.
Cinema Blend reported that the picture was shared on the Facebook page of "The Hunger Games." It comes along with the caption, "Our Leader the Mockingjay arrives on 9/10", as well as #OLTM. Now this can be confusing, as Lionsgate had already set the big day as November 21.
Perhaps, another video trailer or photo teaser is coming out, and most likely, this will be the Mockingjay. Cinemba Blend said that the September 10 surprise could be "one that perhaps shows Katniss Everdeen in full Mockingjay attire."
After so many lives ended inside the arena, it is expected that casting will never be the same. Of course there will be Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth. Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Donald Sutherland, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, and Jeffrey Wright--all present.
An original literary franchise by Suzanne Collins, the film adaptation can change, possibly affecting the characters' line-up.
The most notable cast addition would be that of Julianne Moore, who plays President Alma Coin of District 13. Everybody's excited to see how the District has survived for so many years without formal external communication and help (The Capitol, in this instance). Ever since the rebellion, the said community had buried themselves underground, eventually establishing a way of life that is unique to its citizens.
We are also reminded of Philip Seymour Hoffman who died back in February. He played Plutarch Heavensbee, Head Gamemaker of last year's 75th Quarter Quell. Heavensbee proves to be on Katniss' side in the latter part of "Catching Fire," and therefore, he lives.
But with Hoffman no longer around, Screen Rant said that his character will be "digitally recreated." The actor has finished filming most of his parts for the movie before his death.
What's in store for us this September 10th? We hope it answers the mystery of the figure released today!
