Xbox One 'Games With Gold' List September 2014: Release Dates, Prices, Discounts & Deals
Gamers on the Microsoft console are in for a treat this month-with several discounts, deals and a good number of titles to try out.
The company assures that Games With Gold got gamers' back this September, rolling out 3 titles for its current-gen and past-gen game consoles.
"Super Time Force," an action game released in May, is heading to Games With Gold subscribers free to download from September 1 to 30 on Xbox One. The title is priced at $14.99.
The Xbox 360 gets two free titles this month-"Monaco: What's Yours is Mine" costing non-subscribers $14.99 and "Halo: Reach," free to download for subscribers, otherwise $24.99.
According to Microsoft, "all games are only available for a limited time, as part of the ongoing Games with Gold program."
Those who are not members of the Xbox Games With Gold program will still be able to play an awful lot of new titles this month-of course, for a price. Below are a few games which have confirmed September release dates on the Xbox One.
"Minecraft"
4J promised next-gen players that the game will have worlds 36 times larger than that of the Xbox 360 edition and those itching to create no longer have to wait long. "Minecraft" is available for download in the Xbox Store on Friday, September 5 for $19.99. Those who already have the Xbox 360 version will have to fork out $4.99 for an upgrade.
"Destiny"
The first person shooter is coming to the Xbox One on September 9 with a special Vanguard Player Emblem and early access to the Vanguard Armory weapons and gear as pre-order bonus. The title is priced at $59.99 for the Standard Pre-order Edition and $89.99 for the Digital Guardian Edition.
"NHL 15"
The EA Sports title "brings to life the sights, sounds and feel of real NHL action like never before," said its description. It releases the same day as "Destiny," September 9, and costs $59.99 and $69.99 for the Ultimate Edition.
"Disney Infinity: 2.0 Edition - Marvel Superheroes"
Gamers can mix and match Disney characters-literally, to create a unique and personalized adventure. Disney Interactive Studios confirmed a September 23 release date for the mash-up game which will feature Marvel superheroes. The game is available in a Video Game Starter Pack or a Toy Box Starter Pack. Pre-order is here.
"FIFA 15"
Another EA Sports title, the game "brings football to life in stunning detail," said the publisher. It is available in Standard Edition for $69.90 and Ultimate Edition for $89.90. Gamers get to play by September 23.
"Defense Grid 2"
The sequel features new worlds, a new look, "a compelling single-player campaign, and the addition of new game modes, online player-versus-player and multiplayer co-op." Hidden Path sets the price tag at $22.49 while the Special Edition is at $26.99.
"Forza Horizon 2"
The second installment of the racing game can be bought for $59.99. The Day One Edition "includes three unique cars featuring an exclusive Day One livery and tuning package from Turn 10: 2014 Ford Fiesta ST, 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392, and the 2014 Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG," said Microsoft.
"Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor"
In stores September 30, the game is now available for pre-order from various retailers including GameStop, Best Buy, Amazon, Steam and Walmart with different bonuses depending on where it is bought. Amazon lists the game's price as $59.99.
"Shadow Warrior"
The game features elegant swordplay, upgradeable arsenal, mystical powers and an all-new Shadow Warrior, said its website. The title is available for purchase for $39.99.
Those who don't have the Xbox One yet but are planning to buy the game console are in luck this month. Game Rant reported that from September 7 to 13, Xbox One purchases will come with one free game worth up to $59.99. This means "Madden NFL 15," "Titanfall," "Diablo 3: Ultimate Edition" and other titles priced $59.99 below are shipping with the game console completely free of charge.
