'Frozen 2' Release Date, Cast & Plot Rumors: New Short Film Out 2015
If the film has convinced you that some people are really worth melting for, get ready to freeze one more time with Disney's "Frozen Fever" - starring sisters Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and of course, Olaf.
The all-new animated short film already has a plot, and we bet "Frozen" fans are already melting to see where the characters' new adventures are taking them.
In a report by ScreenCrush, the short film is set to play sooner. The outlet noted Walt Disney Animation Studios' official announcement hinting on the storyboard: Set on Anna's birthday, love interest Kristoff and sister Elsa attempt to give her the best birthday celebration.
With Elsa's powers, the story could be even more interesting. ScreenCrush specified that the announcement was made through ABC Television Network's special, "The Story of Frozen: Making an Animated Classic," on the night of September 2.
As with any Disney picture, songs are to spice up the upcoming story of our "Frozen" characters. An all-new original song by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez is expected to be featured. Looks like we will really have to let go of "Let It go" soon, as this Oscar-winning duo might give us a promising, new music.
Meanwhile, updates on "Frozen 2" are still unavailable.
Aside from "Frozen Fever," Disney is also in the process of writing novels for the franchise, reported Hallels. The source revealed that the studio is starting on "Anna and Elsa: All Hail the Queen," which is set to be released early in 2015.
The said book, however, is not the story of "Frozen" as depicted in the movie. Instead, the first book is a sequel to the story showcased in the film. Hallels also reported that Disney is releasing the second edition of the book, "Anna and Elsa: Memory & Magic," in the same year.
Finally, the 3rd and 4th sequels (which are not yet given titles) are out by 2016. BreatheCast said that the novels have been confirmed by Disney.
The short film, the rumored film sequel, the novels and all "Frozen" merchandise only comprise the tip of the iceberg in terms of the animated flick's success. "Frozen" grossed $1.274 billion worldwide in November and won two Oscars in March as Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for "Let It Go."
Will Disney be able to maintain its well-established Arendelle fan base?
"Frozen Fever" is directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, and produced by Peter Del Vecho. The short film shows in spring of 2015.
