'Super Smash Bros.' News: Roster & Game Levels Leaked; Legit or Not? [Poll]
A new leak has allegedly revealed characters of the title as well as game levels that fans can expect.
According to Smash Boards, the leaked photos, posted on forum 4chan are "possibly legit." The site noted that debate regarding the legitimacy of the leak is still "ongoing" as the "choice of characters" and the "general vagueness" of the new leak is nipping away at authenticity.
The new leak alleged that Dr. Mario, Falco, Ganondorf, Jigglypuff, Mr. Game and Watch, Ness, R.O.B. and Wario are all making a comeback in the Nintendo iteration of the game. Bowser Jr., Dark Pit, Duck Hunt Dog and Shulk are allegedly joining the 3DS version of "Super Smash Bros.," the leak added.
With returning and debuting characters, some characters have also dropped out of the Nintendo "Super Smash Bros." game. The leak suggested that Ice Climbers, Lucas, Ivysaur, Squirtle, Snake and Wolf are all making their exit from the title.
A purported stage select screen has also been leaked in the same forum, Smash Boards added.
"It shows previously revealed stages such as Golden Plains, Rainbow Road, and Tortimer Island but also reveals some never before seen stages such as a Yoshi stage, a F-Zero stage, Distant Planet, and a Xenoblade stage," said the outlet.
Game Rant added that according to the leak, five fighters would be offered as "add-on content" for both Wii U and 3DS versions. The said downloadable characters are Chorus Men, Ice Climbers, Lucas, Snake and Wolf.
It won't be long until gamers and fans of the franchise will be able to authenticate the new leak. The Nintendo 3DS version of "Super Smash Bros." is out October 3 but will be launched in Japan earlier on September 13. The Wii U version of the game is slated for a winter holiday release.
Ubisoft Europe boss Alain Corre said that "Super Smash Bros." as well as "Just Dance 2015" could be big hit titles for Wii U. Speaking with Game Industry International, he said:
"To be honest, we always want more consoles. Just Dance 2015 is resonating very well. We think it will please a lot of [existing] Wii U owners and push more families to buy extra Wii Us.
"But we also believe that Super Smash Bros. will be a trigger to increase the momentum of the Wii U at Christmas. As a gamer, I was playing [Super Smash Bros.] over ten years ago, and it has some of the best moments that Nintendo has shared. I think that franchise could be magical [for the Wii U]."
