Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Release Date, Specs & Features: Powerful 16MP Selfie-Friendly Camera to Ship With Phone [Rumors]
Do you like to take snapshots of yourself or with your friends? If you do, you'll definitely want to pay attention to what Samsung is offering with the new Galaxy Note 4.
According to reports, the new Galaxy Note 4 will feature a 16-megapixel Sony IMX240 camera sensor with optical image stabilization which is capable of shooting UHD (3840x2160) video. This will be supplemented with a front-facing 3.7-megapixel camera with WQHD video recording, noted BGR via Yahoo!
For those who are selfie-lovers, a sensor has been added to the handset - making it easier to snap photos. The feature, called "Side-Touch," has a side-mounted capacitive button which when touched, snaps a photo. This is new-tech that was alleged to be included in the earlier released Samsung Galaxy S5 but never made it to the final model.
For making some of the best self-snaps, "the Galaxy Note 4 will have four new camera modes, three of which are dedicated to the art of the selfie: ‘Selfie' mode, ‘Wide Selfie,' ‘Selfie Alarm,' and ‘Create A GIF File,'" reported SamMobile. The site revealed details on the new modes:
- Wide Selfie: Take wide-angle selfie shots to fit more people into your pictures.
- Selfie: Take selfies easily by smiling or winking without the need to reach for the camera button.
- Selfie Alarm: The rear camera will automatically detect and focus on your face when you take self-portrait pictures.
- Create A GIF File: Create animated images by taking pictures continuously.
This may be an adjustment but some of the favorite camera modes will remain intact. What's more is that the feature enhancements added to the Galaxy S5 like HDR Live, Selective Focus, Fast Auto-focus will be included in the Note 4's arsenal.
However, if this Side-Touch sensor will come to fruition, this may replace the original camera button - meaning you will no longer be able to do half-presses that allow for sharper focus before snapping a picture.
More information on the new smartphone and tablet is expected to be released just days from now. The South Korean company has already confirmed the official unveiling of the device on September 3 during the pre-IFA 2014 event, shared Trusted Reviews.
This September launch pits the phablet head to head with rival company Apple's flagship device, the iPhone 6 expected to be launched within the same month.
