Cristiano Ronaldo's Sexy Take on Ice Bucket Challenge Involves Only Briefs

By Nens Bolilan| Aug 19, 2014

Cristiano Ronaldo did the ice bucket challenge, and he did it wearing only his briefs. Watch the video here.

The Ballon d'Or answered Darren Fletcher, the newly appointed Manchester United vice captain, on the affirmative and did the "craze sweeping the globe" during a Real Madrid training, Scotland Now said. And as though affirming his top-tier status, it added, he nominated Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce and Lil Wayne.

Ronaldo showed his support to the ALS Association's ice bucket challege while wearing purple underpants from his new CR7 collection, Yahoo Sports said, adding that this was a wise move-- to be poured with two ice cold buckets of water for charity and still promote his line. Teammate Fabio Coentrao was among the dumpers.

Ronaldo looked both excited and nervous, For The Win said. He was excited to nominate "very good" celebrities but was also nervous as evidenced by his clinging onto his chair.

Together with Jim Parsons, aka Sheldon Cooper of "The Big Bang Theory," Ronaldo is the latest celebrity to accomplish the ice bucket challenge, The Health Site said. They join Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Satya Nadella, Phil Schiller, Dick Costolo, Justin Timberlake, Jimmy Fallon, Chris Christie, Triple H and Martha Stewart. Furthermore, footballers Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and Ronaldo's Real Madrid teammate, Marcelo, have also taken the challenge.

Nigel De Jong, Robin van Persie, Wesley Sneijder and Joleon Lescott have also been nominated, Scotland Now added while British comedy star, Ricky Gervais, was nominated by Ben Stiller. Gervais then nominated Andy Murray and Russell Crowe, Time said. This is a sign that the movement has now gone global, it added.

Goal.com also said that even Barcelona midfielder, Neymar, was also in on the fun, citing an Instagram video. The 22-year-old, nominated by Brazil teammate, Marcelo, nominated Robinho and Camilo Zuniga, the footballer from Colombia that injured him in the World Cup.

The report also explained the challenge, which raises awareness and pools funds for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig's disease. It has received over $4 million from July 29 to August 12 this year. The person who gets a challenge needs to accomplish the task within 24 hours or donate $100 to fight ALS. However, people who accomplished the challenge can still donate. People pass the challenge to three people.

The ALS Association credits Pete Frates for the challenge's popularity, The Health Site said. Frates, who took the challenge at the end of last month, had the disease since 2012.

People with ALS lose muscle control. Patients can die two to five years after diagnosis, and available treatments only extend a patient's life by months.
