'Frozen 2' Release Date, Cast & Plot Rumors: Sequel Won't be a Movie?
After becoming such a huge hit not just among kids but adults too, Disney reveals that "Frozen 2" will be released in the form of a book and not a movie, for now.
There will be two books in the series titled "Anna & Elsa #1: All Hail the Queen" and "Anna & Elsa # 2: Memory and Magic," reported Perez Hilton.
This does not mean that Disney won't ever do a sequel for "Frozen" in the movie format. With the original movie having made beyond $1 billion, it is most likely that Disney won't resist the opportunity of offering a movie sequel.
Its soundtrack is the one and only album in 2014 to have sold more than a million copies. The original "Frozen" movie is considered the highest grossing Disney animated movie of all time.
According to Disney, the "Frozen 2" book series plot will start where the movie left off and let fans see how Anna and Elsa's sisterly bond will grow since the time of their reunion, Bustle stated.
The first of the two books will be released in January and the other two books are reported to arrive in the later part of 2015.
Independent UK added that the exact selling date of the first set of books will be on January 6, 2015.
Erica David, the writer who adapted hits like "The Legend of Korra" and "How To Train Your Dragon" will write the "Frozen" sequel books.
It was Disney executive Bo Iger who first realized that the sequel of the Disney animated movie can also come in a variety of formats.
"There's a lot of active development ...You will see 'Frozen' in more places that you see today ... We expect to see not just new product but continued interest in this and continued impact on the bottom line for quite a while," the Disney CEO shared.
With "Frozen" now part of the hit series, "Once Upon a Time," fans will most likely quench their thirst for a movie sequel - at least for the moment.
The "Once Upon a Time" showrunners have already cast who will play the Anna, Elsa and Kristoff roles. The Queen Elsa role will be portrayed by Aussie actress Georgina Haig. Scott Michael Foster plays Kristoff and newbie Elizabeth Lail is Anna.
The very first photo from the shoot was released during the recent July 25th Comic Con, Variety stated.
