'Dumb & Dumber 2' Release Date, Cast & Trailer: Jim Carrey & Jeff Daniels Spoof Scarlett Johansson’s 'Lucy' in New Posters
The highly anticipated "Dumb & Dumber To" continues on to promote its arrival by revealing its latest promotional posters that resemble that of Scaflett Johansson's movie "Lucy."
The two main actors of the movie, Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels who first revealed the sort of spinoff posters via Twitter.
It does not just copy the look of the actress in her own "Lucy" movie poster. The new "Dumb & Dumber To" posters also made fun of the tagline saying, "The average person uses 10% of their brain capacity. Imagine what he could do with 1%."
On the other hand, the original "Lucy" poster says, "The average person uses 10% of their brain capacity. Imagine what he could do with 100%."
As reference, the original movie, "Lucy" from which the "Dumb & Dumber To" posters were based, stars Hollywood A-lister Scarlett Johannson who plays the role of someone trapped into becoming a drug mule. She is given a synthetic drug that alters her brain and renders her outstanding physical and mental capacities.
The sequel to the comedy film also recently released its official trailer which shows the characters of Carrey and Daniels, Lloyd and Harry respectively, after 20 years.
They travel to meet up with the daughter of Harry who also happens to be Lloyd's major crush. The film's plot centers on the duo's quest for a kidney which will be used for a transplant, stated Screenrant.
Fans of the original "Dumb and Dumber" movie can expect the same old gross comedy from two of Hollywood's funny man under writer-directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly.
Some fans are even considering it as a major comeback for the "Bruce Almighty" actor. On the part of Daniels, this could be a good chance to see him shift to his dumb and funny character again from his dramatic portrayal in "The Newsroom" of HBO.
When "Dumb & Dumber To" news first broke out, it garnered numerous positive reactions especially with everyone excited to see Jim Carrey back on the big screen. However, the praises died down when the movie trailer did not assure much of the same humorous promise that the original movie offered.
The "Dumb & Dumber To" movie is set to hit the big screen on November 14. Other cast members include Kathleen Turner, Laurie Holden and Rob Riggle.
