'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' Movie Reboot Cast: Top 5 Stars Perfect as Colored Superheroes
The release date for "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" movie reboot is now out. According to E Online, Lionsgate has announced that the Power Rangers movie will be shown in theatre on July 22, 2016. The most anticipated movie will reportedly cast six hot young stars which are "perfect" for the lead characters.
Inside Movies noted that the script was written by Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller who also wrote "Thor." The story was written based on Robert Orci's version, reinventing the tale of ordinary high school students blessed with the power to save the world.
The colorful superheroes first appeared on television in 1993 as a Fox Kids TV series. Inside Movies noted that the two years later, "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie" hit the screens.
Despite the scheduled release, Inside Movies said that the director and the casting has not yet been announced. The film is slated to go up against "King Arthur."
With this recent announcement, E Online compiled its top 5 stars to play the superheroes clad in colourful costumes.
For Red Power Ranger, E Online chose Michael B. Jordan as the perfect person for the role and the leader of the Power Rangers pack. It said that Jordan's "impressive" and "versatile" acting abilities will surely be fit for the superhero leader.
Dylan O'Brien was the actor chosen by E Online for the Blue Ranger role as he can be "a cute and lovable underdog" though the blue superhero is always known to need help in difficult situations, added the outlet.
Meanwhile, Elle Fanning was chosen by the online site to play Pink Power Ranger as she is claimed to be the "epitome of purity and beauty" and that she could give justice to the delicate yet "butt-kicker" role.
Ansel Elgort, according to E Online, will be perfect for the role of White Power Ranger who is known to be the villain who went over the good side. E Online said the actor's "devilishly handsome smile" could very much portray a bad boy gone good.
Seventeen-year-old Hailee Steinfield, according to E Online, is the actress who can play best the role of Yellow Power Ranger who is known to be the brains of the operation of the superhero gang.
Finally for Black Power Ranger, Diego Boneta was chosen by the online entertainment site.
Boston.com, in a similar report, said that the movie will face stiff competition aside from "King Arthur" as big budget movies are also slated to come out like "Angry Birds" movie, "Independence Day 2" and the sequel of "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes."
