Avengers 2: Age of Ultron Update: Plot Details, Teaser Trailer, Thanos News, Release Date
Marvel Studios' Avengers: Age of Ultron is the highly-anticipated sequel to 2012's smash hit The Avengers, and is due out next summer. The new film promises to reunite 'Earth's mighiest heroes' once again to do battle against evil in order to save our planet from certain destruction. Recently, a slew of updates about the film have been released by the studio itself, including a teaser trailer shown at this year's Comic Con, as well as details straight from Marvel's studiohead Kevin Feige.
According to International Business Times, 'Avengers 2' has finished filming and is now in the post production phase, and that means as we draw closer to the film's release next summer, we can expect details and spoilers to appear with greater frequency. Kevin Feige recently spoke to the media at a screening of behind-the-scenes footage for A2.
STARK TOWER'S NEW LOOK
One of the details Feige let slip recently is that Stark Tower--the scene for much of the action of the first Avengers film--has now been remade in this film into a home base for the Avengers--an 'Avengers Tower,' if you will. The reason being is that after the events of Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier, S.H.E.I.L.D. no longer exists and Tony Stark is now "bankrolling" the Avengers.
NEW AND OLD HEROES
It's no surprise that the main cast of the first film will all return. But what about new faces? It's already been revealed in a teaser spot that the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver will be joining the lineup this time around as villains.
THANOS IN AVENGERS 2?
Ever since the post-credits scene in the first Avengers film, fans have been wanting to know if Thanos, one of Marvel's most beloved villains, will be making his debut on the screen. Well that question was finally answered this year when Thanos was featured in Marvel's Guardian's of the Galaxy, but many fans are still wondering if Thanos will appear in 'Age of Ultron.' According to Feige, he won't--maybe. Feige said at Comic Con this year that Thanos is "not a part of" A2. Although, he was quick to follow that up with "nothing is definitive," since production on the film is not completed yet.
