Google Nexus 10 2 Release Date, Features and Specs: Tablet to Launch on October 14; Aims to Beat iPad 5
Google Nexus 10 2 release date is expected to happen on October 14 - a day ahead of the rumoured iPad 5 release date.
Search engine giant Google will partner again with tech manufacturer Asus in making the 10-inch tablet, following the immense success of Nexus 7 2 release last summer. The first generation of Nexus 10 was manufactured by Samsung; however, the device did not make that much noise last year.
Google Nexus 10 2 is reported to be released alongside Google's smartphone - Nexus 5 and the Android 4.4 KitKat next month. The device will be available in Google Play Store right after its announcement.
According to latest reports, the successor of Google's tablet, Nexus 10, is coming ahead of Apple's event to take a bite on the sales of the iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2. Google may also want to show off a new device with high end specs sold at a cheaper price to attract more consumers and get ahead of the tablet race.
Android representative Sundar Pichai hinted the imminent release date of Google Nexus 10 2 last month when he told WSJ reporter Amir Efrati that it will be launched in the "near future" via Twitter. Pichai also said that the new 10-inch Google tablet will be made by Samsung like its predecessor.
Google Nexus 10 2 is rumoured to include features such as a better design; 8.99mm frame; Snapdragon 800 processor; hi-res display of 2560x1600; and 2 GB RAM.
The device is also reported to pack a larger internal storage with expandable storage via microSD slot and LTE support, which were lacking from the previous Nexus 10. Nexus 10 2 will run with the upcoming Android 4.4 KitKat, which will bring in new and improved features.
However, Google has not yet commented on rumours on its roadmap and future devices. Thus, consumers must wait for the official announcement in the next few days and weeks for the Google Nexus 10 2 release date.
